The First of Many...Hopefully.
Hopefully this will be the first of many blog posts, not making any promises. I have tried to commit to blogging a couple different times just to fail miserably, so we will see what happens. I am going to steal a page from my buddy Kris Crippin (www.kriscrippin.blogspot.com) and just kind of introduce myself to you with this first blog and let you know what you can expect to read off of this page.
1. I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world, understanding that any "good" husband would argue this point. I love her very much and she completes me as a person and is a great "help mate" as a spiritual spouse. I am also a father to the most beautiful baby boy, and no matter how "good" of a father you are you can't argue this until you see my son, lol. These two people are the most important parts of my life, and nothing will come before them.
2. I am a student at NOBTS and as of right now I enjoy class but hate school. Can't wait to get out, but can't complain because I should have started sooner.
3. I am a full-time youth pastor in a Southern Baptist Church, and a Contemporary Worship Pastor. Understand that the key word is PASTOR. Therefore, there will be times that I get preachy (that's cause I preach), and if you're a liberal you will probably hate my views on everything, but no reason we can't get along.
4. If you read this blog you WILL read a lot about my thoughts on the Bible and being a Christian. I am sometimes cynical because the average "Christian" really ticks me off. So, if you read what I write and get really angry I want you to do a couple things.
1. Stop and Pray.
2. Read the Bible about what I am saying.
3. Meditate on the scriptures.
4. and Then comment to me.
DO NOT send me a hate comment because I made you feel "uncomfortable", or because you think I'm being "judgmental," or because you think it's about "you." If you get convicted DEAL WITH IT!
5. I may use terminology from time to time that you wont like. I will not be profane but crap, sucks, freaking and may show up in my blog dependent upon how passionate I am about what I am typing. You wanted to read it, so deal with it.
6. My grammar sucks (see, told you), and sometimes I don't spell very well. I hardly ever use punctuation correctly and I don't need you to be my english teacher. If you want to run my blog and I will email you my posts so that you may correct them to be put online, then let me know. I can't pay you so you may serve the Lord for free.
7. I get excited about what happens in my ministries that I partake in. I will tell you all about it right here, and hopefully you will join with me in prayer about these different issues. I will also share with you things from my quiet times, and where I'm reading and hopefully it will encourage you to read your Bible.
8.. My ultimate goal is to glorify the kingdom. I hope that through my blog I may be on bright spot in the "darkside" of the internet.
Okay, so I think that is about it. Have a great day, and I hope you enjoy the reading.
